A stunning and remarkably complete Early Edo period samurai armour set, dominated by striking red lacquer throughout. Red was the colour of elite feudal warriors. Featuring a lamellar chest plate with navy blue lacing, large shoulder guards, shin guards, gauntlets, throat guard, and a dramatic demon-face mask (menpo, replica).
