A breathtaking and remarkably complete Japanese samurai armour set (yoroi) from the Early Edo period, presented in full display-ready condition with storage box. Dominated by striking red lacquer (aka urushi) throughout — a colour historically associated with elite warriors and clan commanders — this ensemble showcases the extraordinary craftsmanship of feudal Japanese armoury at its finest. The lamellar chest plate (dō) features row upon row of red lacquered scales laced in deep navy blue odoshi cord, flanked by large shoulder guards (ōsode) adorned with aged brocade textile. The lower skirt plates (kusazuri), armoured gauntlets (kote), and distinctive red and white striped shin guards (suneate) complete a visually unified and commanding silhouette. The throat guard (nodawa) and dramatic demon-faced mask (menpo) — presented as a high-quality replica — add fierce character to an already imposing display. Accompanied by a period arrow and wooden weapon accessory. A museum-calibre centrepiece that embodies the spirit, artistry, and martial heritage of feudal Japan.
